Apparently I didn't get the memo...

It would seem that getting outdoor pillows and a nice table, which you would like to utilize in the evening invites crazy rainstorms (this being the third in as many days).

Who knew?

Victory thy name is Eileen Pt 2!

Yahoo! I got two more pillows for $9.99 each (which is about my limit for an indoor pillow, much less an outdoor pillow-- so all in all still a littttttle pricey). You'll note that they are the same as the ones I mentioned earlier today (though I had my eye on the butterfly one) I am very pleased with how they look. I was able to kick my turquoise and aqua habit (if only for a day) with the below two clearance pillows-- so that I have a nice splash of color in the backyard.

The next step will be getting our grill down here from Chi-town.

Also, I don't know if I need an umbrella afterall... The tree seems to offer some nice shade. Anyone care to opine? Is anyone out there??

Pillows... pillows...and more pillows!

There just so happens to be a JC Penney in the heart of Rurr Misurr, Washington-- also known as WashMO, and I intend to see if these pillows are available!

I already found two OTHER pillows on super clearance at Target last week ($3 each!)--- and I hope I can get the ones below that I have my eyes on.... They will break the bank by comparison ($12each).

Fingers crossed!

A Rurr Misurr sunset!

Not so bad, eh?

Goodwill two dollar find!

I found this cool shelf at the goodwill for $2! I thought I would place it in the corner where my shelves randomly end before the counter but when i got it home I realized it is a biiiiiit bigger than I originally thought. It would fit-- but the scale might be off.

I think I could have considered the heart to be cheesy-- but instead I think it is kinda sweet. The wood is untreated and a pretty color. I have no idea what kind of wood it is.

If it feels solid enough when I hang it, then I will be able to place some of my China on the shelves. (You can kind of see that I placed some of the pieces in with my kitchen dishes too.)

SO many options! And all for just two dollars!

Powder room conundrum

So, here is our downstairs bathroom-- it is smaaaaall, so therefore difficult to photograph. Here is my conundrum. I plan on putting beadboarding up on the walls (undecided on the wallpaper kind or the large sheeting one. So, I originally wanted it to be a very Tybee type of room-- cool aqua on the walls, the beadboard, crisp white towels, maybe? I planned on painting the cupboard a sheer white so that the wood grain would show through and changing the gold cabibnet hardware to something else.

The main problem is as follows-- I love the photo I have of my main man Hunter Hillenmeyer exactly where he is! So... riddle me this: is it possible to make a "Bears Bathroom" without making it a BEARS BATHROOM? I plan on the beadboard either way... but am reconsidering my original color plans.

Hmm.

Chair cushions... why do you taunt me?

Why oh why are chair cushions so ridiculously pricey? I love these flowery ones for brightening up my patio se (seeing as my yard is bare of any color for lack of gardening)t-- but $29 for one... seriously? I will have to pass.

Victory thy name is Mean Eileen!

I went to a little resale shop around the corner aptly named Shop
Around the Corner--and found my perfect patio set. I am so happy with
it! Hooray!!

It is clearly spray painted so I may decide to change the color next
year-- but for now I'm loving the brownish bronzy color.

And to continue the search for completion... What color umbrella do I
want? Cushions? Hmm...

Today's DIY project

I put together this medicine cabinet! I think I did pretty well considering the sketchy directions! It will replace the plain mirror in the downstairs bathroom. I had originally planned on installing it in the upstairs bathroom-- but i is pretty small (note that it is just above the tub ledge). Will is going to help me install it tonight to make sure it is level. I learned with the cabinet hardware that I do indeed need a bit of help with that... :)

Yikes! That lighting was terrible!

So, the lighting was pretty terrible in the last post-- so I took a few more photos today in order to admire the finished (?) product... I didn't get to painting the shelf edges (you will see why in my next post) but that last photo was so yellow--so I was compelled to post a few more.

Take note of the open space on the wall in the last photo. I am not exactly sure how I will fill it... Thoughts, anyone?

Open cabinets...an open discussion

Ok, so... as we finish up the hardware on the cabinets (Will did all
the drilling), we are trying to decide whether to paint the insides or
not. I almost like the look of keeping them as they are, but can't
quite decide.

Hmm, the rest of my notes disappeared here. Not quite sure what's going on. At any rate, I plan on painting the back "rough" sides of the cabinet shelf fronts to see if that makes a big difference to the overall look. I am also going to look up shelf paper, as if I paint the insides I will need it anyways.

Soooooooo close!

Aaaaaaalmost finished with the cabinets. We could not finish due to
the battery for the drill running out.

So, I will hopefully soon be able to post photos of the actual finished project (fingers crossed for tomorrow, as we had a bit of a snafu with one of the other drawer fronts.

Stay tuned!
