Hmmm... Not so sure

When I began on the room, I really liked it white. You can't see in
the photo but most of the walls are a wood siding type of finish-- and
the white lent itself nicely to that. So once I started painting I
thought I would do just that back wall and keep the other walls primed
and see if I liked the overall effect-- but then my auto-pilot
switched on when I got to the corner, and that plan went out the
window. Soooo--I think I'll like it better when I get a bed in there
with some crisp white linens. But for now it's an improvement over the
mustard color, but not a home run.

Improvement?

Not so sure... It's kinda darker than I thought. We'll see in the
morning.

Blank slate!

I hate carpet

I am about to paint this room the same color as the powder room. How
on EARTH do I paint a clean line next to carpeting?

Celosia!

Mrs. Krummel brought me this beautiful celosia (also known as cockscomb). I am in looooooove with it! Apparently I can harvest the seeds (they look like poppy seeds. So I am currently drying them out and storing the seeds in a paper bag. I am not sure where I will plant them when spring comes... But I am looking forward to it.

Powder room redo

I took these photos at night, so the color may be slightly off, but Kate had asked me what my "new" powder-room-that-is-actually-a-full-bath re-paint and re-do looks like.

I painted it Sherwin Williams "rainwashed" when I fell in love with the color after I stumbled upon it online on another blog.

As you can see, my recentlly injured boyfriend, Hottie Hillenmeyer is still in his place of honor, though I plan to change out the frame when I find the right one that is not $20! I get very angry paying so much for frames. But unfortunately, I do want a more modern frame: black frame, white mat. I will post a photo when I finally find it.

AND...I got the aluminum Mermaid Bath Salts sign that I have wanted for yeeeears! When I look at this photo, the Rainwashed color looks almost gray-- which it is most definitely NOT... although Will and I both agreed that it looked almost gray on the sample.

Will successfully installed another faucet which you will see below as well. And now that I mention that, I realize that I haven't blogged about how I did another round of paint in the kitchen cabinets after all, and that Will installed out new kitchen faucet. And he did it in such a timely fashion, that I won't hold it against him that it was not my first choice faucet!

A little taste of the big city...

Apparently I didn't get the memo...

It would seem that getting outdoor pillows and a nice table, which you would like to utilize in the evening invites crazy rainstorms (this being the third in as many days).

Who knew?

Victory thy name is Eileen Pt 2!

Yahoo! I got two more pillows for $9.99 each (which is about my limit for an indoor pillow, much less an outdoor pillow-- so all in all still a littttttle pricey). You'll note that they are the same as the ones I mentioned earlier today (though I had my eye on the butterfly one) I am very pleased with how they look. I was able to kick my turquoise and aqua habit (if only for a day) with the below two clearance pillows-- so that I have a nice splash of color in the backyard.

The next step will be getting our grill down here from Chi-town.

Also, I don't know if I need an umbrella afterall... The tree seems to offer some nice shade. Anyone care to opine? Is anyone out there??

Pillows... pillows...and more pillows!

There just so happens to be a JC Penney in the heart of Rurr Misurr, Washington-- also known as WashMO, and I intend to see if these pillows are available!

I already found two OTHER pillows on super clearance at Target last week ($3 each!)--- and I hope I can get the ones below that I have my eyes on.... They will break the bank by comparison ($12each).

Goodwill two dollar find!

I found this cool shelf at the goodwill for $2! I thought I would place it in the corner where my shelves randomly end before the counter but when i got it home I realized it is a biiiiiit bigger than I originally thought. It would fit-- but the scale might be off.

I think I could have considered the heart to be cheesy-- but instead I think it is kinda sweet. The wood is untreated and a pretty color. I have no idea what kind of wood it is.

If it feels solid enough when I hang it, then I will be able to place some of my China on the shelves. (You can kind of see that I placed some of the pieces in with my kitchen dishes too.)

SO many options! And all for just two dollars!
